President Donald Trump hosted El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele at the White House on Monday, where tensions flared during a meeting with CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins. Trump, Bukele, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and adviser Stephen Miller all criticized Collins in a heated exchange.
The situation escalated when Bukele addressed the issue of Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia, stating that El Salvador would not send him back to the U.S. despite claims from U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who said it was El Salvador’s responsibility, not the U.S.
