Border czar Tom Homan raised concerns that U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) could face criminal charges for obstructing deportation efforts and aiding illegal immigrants. He made the statement following Ocasio-Cortez’s Instagram live webinar, “Know Your Rights,” in which she advised illegal immigrants on how to handle ICE raids.

The webinar, featuring attorneys from the Immigrant Defense Project, aimed to highlight that ICE raids are political tactics meant to instill fear. Alongside the session, Ocasio-Cortez’s office provided resources on ICE’s tactics and offered legal assistance, including guidance on how immigrants should respond to ICE agents at their door.

Homan appeared on Fox News, questioning if Ocasio-Cortez’s actions were obstructing law enforcement and potentially violating legal boundaries. He indicated that the Department of Justice is reviewing whether her actions warrant legal charges.

Homan’s comments suggest that the congresswoman’s efforts to assist illegal immigrants could be scrutinized further, with potential legal consequences under investigation.
