Donald Trump acted quickly! He has signed the order without delay.

In an effort to address anti-Semitism, former U.S. President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order with notable consequences for foreign students and those taking part in pro-Palestinian protests.

The order allows for the deportation of international students participating in demonstrations seen as anti-Israel, aligning with the administration’s broader approach to curbing campus activities that may support groups like Hamas.

Signed in late January 2025, the executive order directs federal agencies to identify and potentially revoke the visas of non-citizen students involved in such protests. The administration supports this action by citing immigration laws that allow the deportation of non-citizens who “endorse or support” organizations, with Hamas being classified as a terrorist group by the U.S. since 1997.
