Political analyst Mark Halperin said Friday that if Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez challenges Sen. Chuck Schumer in the 2028 New York Senate primary, Schumer might be forced to step down.
NBC News reports that there’s growing public and private pressure from Democrats urging Ocasio-Cortez to run if Schumer seeks another term. On The Morning Meeting, Halperin pointed out that Ocasio-Cortez would have strong arguments against Schumer that could be difficult for him to counter, according to the Daily Caller.
