Graham Craker, affectionately known as “Crackers,” has passed away at the age of 77. He served as a trusted bodyguard to Princes William and Harry for 15 years and was part of the royal security team for a total of 35 years. Craker was with the young princes at Balmoral when they received the devastating news of Princess Diana’s death in 1997, and he later recalled the quiet gratitude William expressed in that difficult moment. He also walked behind Diana’s hearse during the funeral, receiving a silent nod from William as a gesture of comfort and recognition. Prince Harry fondly remembered him in his memoir Spare, and Craker was even invited to William and Kate’s wedding years after retiring. Honored by Queen Elizabeth II and deeply involved in charity work, he remained a respected and cherished figure.

In addition to his royal service, Craker was an active volunteer at the Southern Maltings creative centre. In a tribute shared on Facebook, the centre mourned his passing and remembered him as “our very own James Bond.” They praised his long-standing presence, noting that he had been part of their journey almost from the beginning, especially known for running the bar and ensuring everyone enjoyed their time. Craker’s warmth, dedication, and charisma left a lasting impression on both the royal family and his local community.
