Fox News reporter Lawrence Jones was criticized for wearing a tactical vest while reporting at the U.S.-Mexico border. People said it made the area look like a war zone, even though real border agents didn’t wear vests. Jones said Border Patrol told him to wear it, but many thought it was just for show.
Online, people made fun of him with jokes and edited photos. Some journalists said reporters on all networks sometimes “play dress-up” for the camera, and it’s not okay. Others said the border isn’t as dangerous as Fox makes it seem.
Jones also shared a personal story on his show about his mom choosing to raise him when she got pregnant at 16. She gave up sports and faced many struggles, but stayed strong through prayer. Jones thanked her on air, saying he’s grateful for her decision.
