Several Children Trapped After School Bus Overturns Returning from Field Trip

A school bus from Pine Ridge Middle School, carrying 35 students and two adults, overturned on I-77 in South Carolina on Thursday after a tire blew out. The bus was returning from a field trip when it flipped onto its side in heavy traffic, trapping several children inside.

Emergency responders quickly arrived, with five medical helicopters dispatched to the scene. Several students were taken to nearby hospitals for medical care following the crash.

Aerial footage of the aftermath showed the overturned bus as first responders worked to free the trapped children and assist the injured.
