Former Vice President Mike Pence aims to be a “constructive force for the conservative agenda” during President Trump’s second term, positioning himself as one of the few Republicans willing to formally challenge Trump. Despite their public disagreement following the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, Pence expressed his willingness to support the new Trump administration on issues he agrees with, while opposing areas he disagrees on.
In a recent interview, Pence emphasized that his approach is driven by principles, not personal conflict, stating, “Well, for me, it’s always principles first. It’s not personal.”
