Despite previously indicating interest in challenging retiring Democrat Gary Peters for the Senate seat in 2026, the former Transportation Secretary revealed that he had ultimately decided against running for either governor or senator.
This decision paves the way for Buttigieg to focus on a future presidential campaign, signaling his intent to remain a significant political figure in the coming years.
