President Donald Trump expressed his gratitude to El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele after he shared a shocking video showing hundreds of suspected migrant criminals arriving in Central America after being deported from the U.S.
Trump thanked Bukele on social media, referencing the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which allows for the deportation of citizens from enemy countries without a hearing.
In his post, Trump criticized the “incompetent Democrat leadership” that allowed the situation to unfold, and emphasized that the U.S. would not forget Bukele’s understanding and support in dealing with the issue.
