Carlo Acutis, a Milan-born teen dedicated to the Catholic Church and helping the poor, died of leukemia at 15 in 2006. He has been considered for sainthood after the Vatican confirmed two miracles attributed to him. His body has been preserved for 19 years, and his canonization was scheduled for April 27, shortly after Pope Francis’ death on April 21.
Acutis was linked to two miracles: a Brazilian toddler who recovered from a deadly congenital disorder after a blessing involving Acutis’ clothing, and a Costa Rican woman who fully healed from a brain hemorrhage after prayers at his coffin. Known as “God’s influencer,” Acutis combined his faith with technology, documenting Eucharistic miracles on his website and helping his local church digitally.
