Joe Biden Gives First Speech Since Leaving Office at a Chicago Conference, Sparking Buzz over His Appearance

Joe Biden made his first public speech since leaving office on April 15, 2025, at a bipartisan conference in Chicago hosted by the Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives for the Disabled (ACRD). During the speech, Biden criticized the current administration’s handling of Social Security, calling it destructive and damaging. His appearance sparked discussion on social media, with many commenting on how refreshed and healthy he looked.

Earlier in the day, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt made a controversial remark about Biden’s age, which led to widespread backlash for being disrespectful. Many social media users found her comments inappropriate, especially given Biden’s former role as president.

Biden’s return to the public stage comes amidst ongoing concerns about changes to the Social Security program under the Trump administration, including cuts to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and policy shifts led by Elon Musk. These changes have caused public anxiety, particularly among low-income and disabled individuals reliant on Social Security benefits.
