A Colorado waitress, Taylar Cordova, used social media to highlight the struggles of servers in America after receiving a $0 tip on a $187.43 bill. She shared a photo of the receipt on Facebook, expressing frustration over customers who don’t tip, emphasizing that low wages force servers to rely on gratuities to cover essential expenses for their families.
Cordova pointed out that servers often earn only $2-$5 per hour, making it nearly impossible to support themselves without tips. The U.S. Department of Labor confirms that employers are only required to pay tipped workers as little as $2.13 per hour in direct wages. if that amount combined with the tips received at least equals the federal minimum wage.”

Cordova ended her post with a firm message, advising those unwilling to tip to avoid dining at restaurants, suggesting they opt for fast food instead.
Her post struck a chord with many, gaining traction online and being shared over 15,000 times.
