Farmer Ben was thrilled when he found out his horse was pregnant—it meant the chance of having a valuable new foal. After months of waiting, the horse appeared ready to give birth, with a large belly and signs of labor. But something was off—it refused to deliver. Concerned, Ben took the horse to a local vet for an ultrasound.

When the vet saw the scan, he was shocked and called the police right away. Whatever was inside the horse wasn’t normal, and it needed immediate surgery. In a small town where little ever happens, this strange situation caught everyone’s attention. The police quickly arrived to assist both the vet and to speak with Ben, asking him to come with them. Ben was stunned—he had only wanted to help his horse, not get involved in something serious.

While the vet operated, Ben answered questions about his long-time horse. Then, from the surgery room came the vet’s startled voice, expressing disbelief over what he found. Given how difficult and costly it can be to get a mare pregnant, this was already a stressful time for Ben. But nothing could have prepared him for what was discovered inside the horse.
