A customer at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Connecticut raised concerns about the restaurant’s décor, pointing out what appeared to be “nooses on the ceiling.” In response, the restaurant chain issued an apology for the decorations, clarifying that the object was a wrapped cord used to attach décor items, but acknowledged that it was “completely unacceptable” that employees didn’t recognize how it resembled a noose before displaying it.
Twitter user Alfonso Robinson shared images of the décor, captioning the post: “Someone at Cracker Barrel in East Windsor need to explain why there are nooses on the ceiling…” Cracker Barrel addressed the tweet the same evening, explaining that the cord was part of an antique soldering iron and had been removed.

Activists later visited the restaurant and had a “positive” conversation with manager Mark Smith, who explained that the cord had been part of the display for 22 years without anyone noticing until recently. Some Twitter users have called for Cracker Barrel to review all décor in its locations or provide a timeline for such a review.

Cracker Barrel sent a statement to Fox News, emphasizing their commitment to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment. They reiterated that the item should have been noticed and removed earlier, thanking the guest who brought the issue to their attention.
