Steve Doocy, a longtime co-host of Fox & Friends, announced he will be stepping back from his daily role after nearly 30 years. He’ll transition to hosting remote segments for the show, allowing Ainsley Earhardt, Lawrence Jones, and Brian Kilmeade to continue hosting from the New York City studio while Doocy appears from Florida. Reflecting on his long career, Doocy humorously shared how his early mornings, waking up at 3:30 AM, have been a routine for decades, even joking about how many “donuts” he’d made over the years.
Although not retiring, Doocy explained that the move to a new role allows him to spend more time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and report from various parts of the country that don’t often receive network coverage. From Florida, he plans to focus on stories from the Carolinas, the Keys, and other regions. His new schedule will see him working three days a week, akin to Johnny Carson’s format, and he expressed excitement about having more time for family, especially as he prepares to visit his grandchildren.
As for the future of Fox & Friends, Doocy expressed his gratitude to his co-hosts and hinted at emotional moments ahead. He shared that after a short break, he’ll return remotely, leaving fans wondering what comes next for the beloved host.
