King Charles has a strong bond with his grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but his relationship with his U.S.-based grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, is said to be virtually nonexistent. The distance and ongoing tensions with his son, Prince Harry, are major factors.
Harry has raised serious concerns about the safety of his family when visiting the UK, saying he won’t bring Meghan Markle and their children unless proper security is provided. Although he’s appealed to King Charles for assistance, the king has reportedly been unable to meet his demands. This lack of security has become a central issue in the ongoing rift between father and son, especially after a court rejected Harry’s request for government-funded protection.
This situation has taken an emotional toll on King Charles, who is said to be heartbroken over not seeing Archie and Lilibet. He deeply wishes to build a relationship with them like the one he enjoys with Prince William’s children. Despite the strain, Charles remains hopeful for reconciliation, encouraged by Queen Camilla’s support in trying to heal the family divide.
